Nellie Jane Barwick

Nellie Jane Barwick, 78, formerly of Sesser, passed away at 6:40 P.M., Monday, March 10, 2003 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Nellie was a retired postal worker.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mt. Vernon, IL.  She was also a member of the Relief Society at the church.
She was born December 6, 1924 at Herrin, IL, the daughter of Jesse Franklin and Nell (Jones) Russell.
She married Wayne A. Barwick on February 15, 1942 at Jackson, Missouri and he preceded her in death on December 3, 1966.
She is survived by two daughters - Sharon Kay Davis and husband JD of Sesser, IL and Waynette Helm of Joelton, TN, one sister - Vesta Smith of Denver, CO, six grandchildren - DJ Davis and wife Laura of Christopher, IL, Tammy Valette and husband David of Christopher, IL, Timothy Helm and wife Vicki of Nashville, TN, Kristine Ann Helm of Kansas City, KS, Debbie Kay Helm of Nashville, TN, and Michael Wayne Helm and wife Nikki of Nashville, TN, eight great grandchildren - Hope Valette, Holly Valette, Halle Valette, Victoria Davis, Noah Jackson Davis, Candice Annette Helm, Angel Sky Minton, and Dillan Bright Helm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one great grandson.
Funeral services were at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 14, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Bishop Schroeder of Mt. Vernon officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery at Sesser.
